JR Hind Ltd and the 100km long Thirlmere Link Main

JR Hind Ltd has been involved right across the Thirlmere Link Main project in these aspects in particular:
- Site Exploration – exploring for buried services
- Access points, lay downs, site compounds, cabins, crane pads, stone roads, easement to public highways
- Site reinstatement – to original levels
- Continued maintenance – fencing, crossings, watercourses etc
This United Utilities project with Farrans and Roadbridge has been an integral part of JR Hind Ltd’s work load.
In 2017 JR Hind was approached to work on the 5 year Thirlmere link mains project in West Cumbria. A 100 kilometre stretch of new pipe line which has been installed brought many challenges to the project, one of which was looking after the environment whilst work was carried out.
HARROT HILL PUMPING STATION
Harrot Hill Pumping Station, HHPS has been a major player within the project for JR Hind Ltd. Comprising of site setup, pre-construction drainage, site access road installation, top soil strip, set up of compound, site muck shift, site excavations, concrete works, site drainage, grasscrete, surfacing, tarmac, general landscaping. These works have been continuously carried out from 2018. Estimated completion of works at HHPS is expected September 2020.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS
JR Hind Ltd specialises in environmental works and had specialist environmental teams working right across the project carrying out surface water management, silt management, drainage and general environmental mitigation works. At its height the company had 12 members of staff carrying out these works to ensure the environment was kept safe.
